Ikonický ještědský prvek od architekta Otakara Binara, kterému však chyběl poslední díl a málem tu nikdy nevisel.
Yes, it was the 1970s, when all production in former Czechoslovakia was centrally planned. If you needed something extra or customized, you had no chance. You couldn't order a special products from any company, which were all state-owned. But the authors of Jested managed to do just that, and they themselves consider it the greatest miracle.
However, the great egg chairs of architect Otakar Binar lacked carabiners so that they could be hung. It was impossible to find them, the climbers themselves had to buy them in Tuzex not with money but with special vouchers. The situation was saved by the Liberec firefighters who donated three carabiners to Ještěd.
This is what they looked like in the '70s. The swinging egg chairs are still original today - in 2014 we had them completely renovated, including the structure, fillings and cover. This was chosen by architect Otakar Binar to make the chairs feel as close as possible to the original ones from the 1970s.
